Sarin Chemilian

Sarin is a first generation Armenian-Canadian. Her father was born in Aleppo and her mother in Beirut, both of whom came to Canada during the 70s and 80s, tracing their roots back to Orfa and Keyseri, Turkey, prior to 1900. Like her sister, our producer Ani, Sarin was born in Toronto.


Throughout her life, and as a student at Ryerson, Sarin has been heavily involved in Armenian causes. In 2020 she began Sarin Tantig’s, a bakery specializing in Armenian pastries, to raise money in support of causes during the war in Nagorno-Karabakh. Since the end of that conflict, Sarin has continued the business and expanded the scope of her work.
